Quartz and granite on Lake Monona, laser templated on site and fabricated in our DeForest shop

Yes. Monona is 20 minutes from the DeForest shop where we cut the stone. Tops are laser templated on site once the cabinets are set, cut on CNC equipment in DeForest, and installed by our own crews. QBC LLC's Countertops Division runs 5 to 10 large multifamily projects a year plus 10 to 15 smaller projects a month, most of them in Dane County, and Monona has been a repeat stop.
Projects completed or under contract, with the general contractor:
The same shop has set tops on roughly 75 completed Madison-area projects.
The same scope as our countertops service page: quartz and granite supplied and installed under one contract, laser templating after cabinets are set, fabrication in DeForest, edge profiles, cutouts, and seams built to one standard across the project, and stone window sills from the same shop. Large orders are bought in one production lot so color matches from the first unit to the last. Cabinetry and finish carpentry are separate QBC scopes run by the same project manager.
Color and slab approvals, edge profiles, and the sink and cutout schedule are signed off in preconstruction and stone is ordered against lead times. Once base cabinets are permanently set, we laser template, program the cut file, fabricate, and install, usually the same crew that templated the unit. Standard lead time is 30 days or less from template to installation; smaller projects can turn in two weeks when the schedule allows. Four rounds of punch, then closeout with a 1 year labor warranty on installation.
Send plans to bids@questbuildingcorp.com, or call 608-665-3304 and ask for Sales. We take off and bid every requested scope, labor and materials, under one contract. Most of our work comes through general contractors; if you're a developer who wants QBC on the job, see how developers put QBC on a project.
Yes, through our countertop packages: granite and quartz installed, starting at $3,000, quoted from a simple hand drawing. Everything else on this page is for general contractors and developers.
No. We template only after base cabinets are permanently set, level, and secured. Templating early is how a fit error on one kitchen becomes a fit error on 60.
Quartz is the most specified top in new multifamily work: non-porous, no sealing, consistent color. Granite gives natural stone at a lower material cost on many colors but needs periodic sealing. We price both in Good, Better, and Best tiers with physical samples.
One dedicated QBC project manager, from bid through closeout, for every scope we hold.
This page covers one scope in one city. For the full scope, lead times, and FAQs, see the service page.
