Framing Contractors in Madison, WI

Multifamily wood framing, lumber, trusses, and wall panels, 15 minutes from our DeForest office

Does QBC frame multifamily buildings in Madison?

Yes. Framing is the scope QBC LLC was built on. We started as a custom home framing crew in Madison in 1998, moved into large multifamily work in 2008, and our framing crews, Foremen, and project managers are based in DeForest, 15 minutes up Highway 51. We supply the lumber, trusses, engineered floor systems, and wall panels and install them under one contract, with one project manager from takeoff to final inspection.

What has QBC framed in Madison?

Projects completed or under contract, with the general contractor:

  • Jannah Village (Riegert Builders): framing, 41 units
  • Burma Road 8 Unit (Riegert Builders): framing
  • Infinity Apartments (FMI): framing
  • Brearly (Pepper Construction): framing, finish carpentry, countertops, and cabinets, 124 units
  • Capitol Lakes Bassett Place (McGann Construction): framing and countertops

Most of QBC's Madison work has been finishes: trim, cabinets, and countertops on roughly 75 completed projects. Framing is where we want to do more of it, and the same crews that frame for us in Sun Prairie, Fitchburg, and across Dane County are the ones that would frame yours.

What does the framing scope include?

The same scope as our rough carpentry service page: platform framing for multi-story wood buildings, engineered floor systems, roof and floor trusses, panelized walls, blocking, backing, and stairs. Lumber, trusses, and panels are supplied under the same contract at volume pricing based on our combined project volume, or delivered without labor if that is all your project needs; see building materials. We do not manufacture trusses or panels; we take them off, order them, and set them.

How does a Madison framing project run?

Plan review in preconstruction, where we check structural drawings against the MEP routing and truss layouts against bearing points and flag constructability problems while they are still on paper. Materials ordered against real lead times, deliveries scheduled by floor. Crews frame floor by floor in sequence with your MEP trades, and every floor goes to inspection ready. Four rounds of punch (ours, yours, the owner's, and final), then closeout. If you bundled finishes with us, the same project manager carries the job into trim, cabinetry, and countertops.

How do I get QBC on a Madison project?

Send plans to bids@questbuildingcorp.com, or call 608-665-3304 and ask for Sales. We take off lumber, trusses, panels, and hardware and bid labor and materials under one contract. Most of our Madison work comes through general contractors; if you're a developer who wants QBC on the job, see how developers put QBC on a project.

FAQs

Do you frame single-family homes in Madison?

Our crews are built for multifamily and commercial projects. Custom homebuilders should see our framing packages: a dedicated 6-man crew for whole structures within 75 miles of DeForest.

Do you sell framing materials without labor?

Yes. Lumber, trusses, and wall panels, delivered to your Madison site, with or without our crews.

Panelized walls or stick framing?

We price both in preconstruction so you can compare. Panels shorten the schedule and cut weather exposure on tight downtown sites; stick framing absorbs late changes better.

Who is my point of contact?

One dedicated QBC project manager, from bid through closeout, for every scope we hold.
