What building materials does QBC supply?
QBC LLC supplies roof trusses, floor trusses, prefab wall panels, I-joists, LVL beams and headers, treated and dimensional lumber, hardware, cabinets, and quartz and granite countertops for multifamily and mixed-use projects across Wisconsin and Northern Illinois. Every item is taken off from your plans and quoted by the same estimators who bid our labor.
You decide how far we go. If delivered material is all your project needs, we quote it, order it, and schedule the delivery. If you want it installed, the crew that ordered it sets it, under the same contract, with one project manager for both. Most of our customers take the second option because it is simpler, but the first one is open.
The lumber side comes through a manufacturing partner at volume pricing, priced on our combined project volume rather than your one project. The cabinets are the same lines we install on our cabinetry projects. The stone is quartz and granite, laser templated and fabricated in our DeForest, Wisconsin shop, the same shop behind our countertop work. Lumber, trusses, and panels are set by the crews on our framing projects.

Why buy building materials from the contractor who can also install them?
Because the takeoff, the order, and the install come from one set of plans and one project manager, even if you only use the first two. When a supplier and an installer are two companies, a short count or a wrong truss is a conversation between three parties. When QBC supplies and installs, it is one. When QBC only supplies, you still get a quote built by people who have set the same material on their own jobs, so the counts are right the first time.
How does QBC price trusses, wall panels, and lumber?
We order trusses, wall panels, and engineered floor systems through a manufacturing partner and price them on our combined project volume, which is often equal to or better than what a general contractor can get on a single project. We do not manufacture trusses or panels. We take them off, order them, and when you want us to, we set them.
How does QBC protect your schedule?
Lead times are locked during preconstruction. Trusses and panels are ordered against the framing schedule, cabinets are ordered four to six months ahead of install on larger multifamily projects, and stone is templated once the cabinets are set. Deliveries are scheduled by scope so material lands when the site is ready for it. Timeliness is one of our twelve core tenets, and the material order is where it starts.

Can I buy materials from QBC without the labor?
Yes. Delivered material is a complete order to us, not a consolation prize. You get the same takeoff, the same volume pricing, and the same project manager you would get on an installed scope. Cabinets are the one we supply on their own most often, usually to general contractors we already frame or trim for. If you later decide you want the install too, it is the same contract and the same contact.
What does QBC need to quote a material package?
A complete plan set and a target start date for the scope. We do the takeoff. A lumber takeoff on a multifamily building is a lot of estimating labor, which is why we quote it in under four weeks rather than overnight. Send plans to bids@questbuildingcorp.com.
How a QBC building materials order runs
- Invite us to bid. Send plans to bids@questbuildingcorp.com. Tell us which scopes you want delivered and which you want installed. We take off every requested scope under one contract.
- Preconstruction. Your project manager is assigned. Truss and panel engineering, cabinet shop drawings, and stone samples are submitted for approval, lead times are locked, and deliveries are scheduled by scope.
- Delivery or installation. Material is delivered to your site on schedule. Where we install, the crew that ordered the material sets it, coordinated by one project manager with our Foremen on site.
- Punch. On installed scopes, four rounds: ours, yours, the owner's, and final.
- Closeout. Warranties sent.

Floor trusses are open web assemblies of dimensional lumber joined with metal plates, so ducts, pipe, and conduit run through the webs without drilling. I-joists are engineered wood members with lumber or LVL flanges and an OSB web, lighter to handle, with holes for mechanicals cut within the manufacturer limits. QBC supplies both and installs both when asked.
